#BetterTogether - Welcoming New Group Fit Director, Erin Lotta

Erin began her journey at the NAC in December 2015 to improve your fitness experience. Since then, Erin joined our personal training team as a personal trainer in March. She specializes in strength training, team training and high-intensity workouts. We're excited to announce Erin's newest role as Group Fit Director!

Erin began her own fitness journey about 3 years ago after having her second child. She began with taking Les Mills Body Pump and spin classes to get back in shape. She also worked with a personal trainer during that time.

Erin's goal is to create an environment with well-rounded programming for all members which encompasses group fitness classes, strength training, nutrition education, as well as a mind/body connection.

    1. How do you make lives better?
My mission is to help people become stronger both mentally and physically with a well-rounded fitness experience at the NAC. Good health is a lifestyle. Everyone is at a different place in their fitness journey and I believe in meeting people where they are in that journey and challenging them to be better than imagined.
    1. How did you get involved in the fitness industry?
I have struggled with my weight for the majority of my life. I always thought that I had to be a certain size to try new activities and to workout in front of others at the gym. I was always a fitness lover but was only focused on running and cardio based activities until a few years ago. Running an hour a day, six days a week never resulted in the lean, toned body that I always dreamed of. A few years ago, I started lifting weights and focused on strength for the first time while still remaining fearful of becoming big and bulky. This changed my life! I finally got the toned, lean body I desired and became inspired to help others achieve change in their lives too.
    1. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I hang out with my husband and kids in my spare time. I've also been training for the Rock N Roll Brooklyn Half Marathon in October with the NAC for ALS Research. I believe you go through fitness cycles throughout your life, and I'm happy to have cycled back to running- because I love it! A well-rounded program can't involve only one thing, all the time.
    1. A big misconception about fitness and weight loss?
You can get the “toned look” without building any muscle.
    1. Do you prefer training alone, with a partner or in a group?
I love working out with a partner or in a group because I believe workouts MUST be fun- which is why I love group exercise and team training. There is nothing better than hanging out with your friends and pushing each other to be better. It's a plan for success.
    1. Advice for those beginning their fitness journey?
Be patient with yourself. Weight isn’t gained or lost overnight. For real results that stick you must be willing to commit to the journey!

"See every day, every moment as an opportunity to restart and be a better you than yesterday."

If you're looking to fill the gaps in your training plan, and are searching for a more well-rounded experience, we're here to help by creating a personalized fitness design.
